I am a professor of philosophy at the University of Rijeka, Croatia (PhD Stirling and Genova, MA Hull, BA Florence). My research focuses on the philosophy of mind, philosophy of psychiatry, and neuroethics. I am particularly interested in the intersections of psychiatry and criminal law.
Among my recent books are The Methods of Neuroethics (Cambridge University Press, 2024, co-authored with John McMillan), Psychopathy: Its Uses, Validity, and Status (Springer, 2022, co-edited with John McMillan and Predrag Šustar), andFilozofija uma: suvremene rasprave o odnosu uma i tijela (Philosophy of Mind: Contemporary Debates on the Mind-Body Relationship, FFRI, 2022, co-authored with Marko Jurjako).
During my fellowship at the Centre, I investigate the concept of exculpatory inability. My focus is on how this concept can integrate scientific insights about offenders with antisocial personalities into the practice and doctrine of exculpation in criminal law.
